This system preference will allow you to set the language for your MARC21 008 field by default. If this is left empty it will default to English (eng). See the `MARC Code List for Languages <http://www.loc.gov/marc/languages/language_code.html>`__ for additional values for this preference.

This system preference won't have any effect if your records are in UNIMARC.
