Nejbezpečnějším způsobem je připojit údaje na začátek každého souboru se zdrojovým kódem, čímž se nejúčinněji poukáže na vyloučení záruky. V každém souboru by pak měla být přinejmenším řádka s podpisem autora a odkazem na místo, kde lze získat ostatní úplné údaje.
