When you click the search button, you will see a list of results that begin with the text you entered in the search box. Clicking on a result opens a section listing the catalog records that match this search result. From there, it is possible to click through to the full record.

The option to see the Search History within the Advanced Search feature exists if the system preference :ref:`EnableSearchHistory <enablesearchhistory-label>` is set to 'Keep'. This system preference controls whether the staff interface keeps :ref:`search history <search-history-label>` for logged in users. The search history will be accessible under the link to your account at the top right of the staff interface and additionally under the Advanced Search option.
