Once confirmed, a new line will be added to the account for a 'Cancelled charge' of the same amount as the canceled charge. The charge that was canceled will now have the 'Cancelled' status and the amount outstanding will be 0.

This button will only appear on a charge/debit line that has not already had any payment/credits applied to it. Upon canceling the line it will be marked as 'Cancelled' and a `CANCELLATION` line will be added and offset against it. This action is most commonly used to correct cases where a charge was made mistakenly.

If a patron has existing holds on their account, the option to delete the patron is possible. The hold will be canceled and moved to the old\_reserves table.
